  10. Bump--support the sponsor (Chains Ropes and Anchor )as well ---more boats entered so plan for a fun weekend --even the cruising race is a challenge , especially with an evening start and a night sail .
  11. Any ideas for next year--courses with a destination of Great Barrier --ANZAC is mid week next year so we need to plan for another great event and get more boats --longer courses -250/350 miles ???
  12. Duty Free

    Castlepoint

Exposed , lagoon only good for trailer boats (never seen a boat with a mast in there when l was a regular out there )and can be a surf running --main beach good to surf, no place for a yacht unless exceptionally settled and after a few days of offshore winds (highly unlikely !!)
  13. Please don't confuse the previous duty free and the Duty Free that is me --l actually agree with the comments and one of the reasons l am hearing of people not trading up is the cost of a bigger berth --I am regularly approached by brokers but keep saying l cant/don't want to afford the cost of a bigger berth and l am happy with the 1220 l have and the 12m berth --fairly soon the fees will push some of us out of the best marina around so if we want to stay on the water we either trade back down or move elsewhere.
  14. BUMP---Start off Devonport , 2pm this Saturday
  15. The 2017 RNI, 2 handed race starts this month--25th February . See SSANZ website for details and links . 30 boats , all with trackers --Mangonui, Wellington, Napier ,Auckland .

  17. Bump-- Important dates to mark in your calendar are: Race 1 NZ Spars and Rigging 60 9th July Race 2 Evolution Sails 100 6th August Race 3 Baltic 50 3th September Only a month away
  18. 41 boats-- absolutely fantastic
  19. Entries close tomorrow for all divisions . Email from Race Director , Hi all, The SSANZ Chains Ropes and Anchors Anzac Race normal entries close tomorrow. This is a race designed as a qualifier for the RNI and should be seriously considered by anyone thinking of going around the island next year. The race will count as a qualifier for the boat and two skippers even in the event of the race being shortened if the weather is light as we consider time on the water in a race environment to be of more value than just ticking the box of miles sailed. See you on the start line.
  20. All we need are some 1220's otherwise we will feel lonely and picked on !!!!!
  21. 23 boats now--looks like a Farr regatta in the cruising division
  22. Bump--16 Entries so far--For those (of us) not wanting to do the 250 or 180 mile races (which start on Thursday evening ) there is the cruising Division at 60 miles---leave Friday, still join the party at Barrier and take 2 days to get home
  23. Duty Free paid and entered a few weeks ago --not showing up but we will be there
  24. Not very knowledgeable about Osmosis in 1220's at all --haven't heard of any talk but that doesn't mean a thing . Good luck
  25. Excellent news --don't forget to make contact if you see Duty Free in your travels . Andrew
