  1. I’ve got a WildCat 2.6m, love it. Well priced, stable and carries us well.
  2. Hi mcp, I have a complete ( was running) MD2030 on the shelf at work, I am aiming to rebuild it with a kit of pistons/rings/bearings from the UK, it’s about £400 . So I am hoping for around $3000 NZD by the time I’ve added any machine work needed, water pump, etc its destined to replace my 30yo, Volvo 2002, which starts/runs/sounds sweet after thousands of hours use. It just won’t die ! id love to hear how you get on with the MD2030 rebuild if indeed you do it. despte hearing endless reports of dud Volvo’s, I really rate my 2002 !
  3. GBE Excalibur is keen, just need a mooring up near town somewhere , can anyone help with that ?
  4. Thank you, I will call for a quote. Yes GBE size ideal
  5. Can anyone help, please. I require a Mainsail boom cover for a 28 ‘ Cat with 3700mm boom (approx)
  6. Looking for cheap dinghy, wooden or glass or inflatable just to row from private jetty out to moored yacht, about 100m away. Nothing fancy required at all
  7. I remember tendering $36,000 in 1995 for WitchDoctor when she had had the keel ripped clean out of her at Motukete Island (?). I was unsuccessful with my tender, however she did indeed get repaired and I’m sure has done many thousands of miles of sailing since. A beautiful yacht.
  8. It’s a good start. A few thousand more stink boats to go.
  9. On my 1020 I’ve just replaced the front pulley bearing, and electromagnet , on a Sanden 508 using parts sourced from AliExpress. And had it vacuumed, checked, recharged . Very happy with its performance now , all for under $500.
  10. My observation was a great deal “smootherl” at 2300-2600rpm cruise. The KiwiProp is 3 bladed , and lighter than the Volvo Unit , and with KP I had about 0.7 to 1knt increase in speed , for same revs. We do a lot of Motoring. A hell of a lot
  11. Raz88 I have the specs at work for my KiwiProp We too are 34 foot , 18hp Volvo with 120S leg. I’ll message you the specs. I also have my “spare” Volvo prop I can “lend” you if you need to get going sooner rather than later. It’s in New Lynn , Auckland and ready to bolt on (re pinned etc)
  12. I have a Volvo sail drive , and approx 2 years ago the same thing happened. It simply fell off, after being fitted by an engineer. There was no damage to spline / thread at all. It was 6 months after he had fitted it. Insurance - no Help from the engineer - no I found a second hand ( albeit refurbished) KiwiProp and fitted it my self. Best thing that I ever did ! Fantastic piece of kit As a precaution I purchased a second hand ( but rebuilt) Volvo 2 blade folder for very few $$$, and keep it ready to go in case a repeat “ prop disconnect “ happens Hope you get some “help” from th
  13. I’ve got about 15 x seagulls of various size/age/condition. Many many spares also. All second hand. Based in Mt Albert Auckland. In case any one might want one ...or a lot !!!

    AC day 4

Thanks for the links Matt , and I'd love it if they were to continue
  15. I have my yacht Insurance with NZI , organised by friendly broker whom I've used to insure business / properties / vehicles. Very painless process , and I thought it quite cheap ( we didn't need cover for racing )
  16. As per title, I'd like to employ someone to source / install a Toilet Holding Tank to a Farr 1020 , located at Half Moon Bay, Akl Please contact me on 021 817 671 if you can help me , cheers Keith
  17. Yes I've used " Vorpal Blade" for repairs to a dodger, Genoa and boom cover recently and I was really happy with his work, timeliness, friendliness, and pricing also. Highly recommended.
  18. I owned Fineline back in the early 1990s ($65k we paid I think ..). She was "standard" in those days , went really well with the Blade / #3 when two handed. A good alround performer , and was a heap of fun ( we were early 20s, no kids etc ), light and fast. I thoroughly recommend a Y11 , hope your search is successful. I have been onboard one in NELSON only 2 years ago, and I believe it had been across the Tasman , was in very good order.
  19. Clever Choice paid and entry sent in, first "race" for me in 8 years and first time out on new boat most likely. . .
  20. Clever Choice 1020 will be there. I'll lodge entry when I am Back at my desk in an hour or so .
  21. Rawhide I am envious , the two quarter berth model sounds great. ! I have arranged to view FARRARI sometime this week coming , and Warwick from the 1020 Assoc has given me some good photos of his tank install. Once again , Crew . org is a fabulous resource.
  22. Thanks for all the great posts , on this unpleasant but necessary feature on boats these days. I'd certainly like to view another 1020 (one only seen one 1020 ...our one !). At HMB would be easy to do also. We aim to get our yacht to that Marina eventually , but it's a long wait list ....
  23. Can you please point me to where the details of this race are ? I'd be keen to enter but unsure I the date : time : course etc.
