  1. As above, take them to Actron. Five years hydro test for the CO2 and a periodic pressure test (normally 5years) for the others if they are the rechargeable type. - should state on the label if it is still there

HCB Technologies - They have a huge range and if you know someone with an account there the savings can be very good.
  4. Picture and video can be deceptive. Looking at the image below take a guess what the wave height that was recorded that day both avg and max at the time.
  5. Another method if they break - if there is enough material left is to drill two holes and seize them on. Worked ok on some larger ones many years ago - they were $20each at the time.
  6. I thought the Super is not means tested. I know of a good number that get it and are earning 100k+ a year working. If you were on a benefit when going onto the super you need to declare that. Or is it tax related? The money from his mum's estate - could it be classed as a gift?

  8. Gotta agree with that Main wharf - 15m space each end of vessel, inbound turn ~180deg, engine running half astern as going into gap with strong ebb.

    diesel woes

Was on a boat that had the engine mounts fail in a seaway - we realized if we got knocked over / rolled the engine would move a lot.... When the owners replaced the engine mounts they fitted gear to prevent the engine shifting if the vessel got knocked over / rolled. It might be a Cat 1 requirement?
  17. A product by CRC - Hi-Performnce Multilube Gel might be suitable. I use it on chains (like bicycle chain) on a mower deck so lots of dust about but no dust adheres to it. Edit : It is spray on
  18. Have been looking at tablets for nav gear that is portable. One that was recommended was the HP Elite Pad 1000 G2 Rugged Tablet http://www8.hp.com/nz/en/products/tablets/product-detail.html?oid=7468174 price I had was about $2500 versus the tough pad at $4500. Both are IP65 rated.

  20. Relaxed time schedule.... Not from what I see. A delay at one port can mean having to skip the next port. They book years ahead.
  21. Many do but they turn them off alot in my experience. Warramunga has AIS fitted.
  22. The point - I think you mean they are still responsible for their wake - so if you think it an issue report it to the HM, or if you think it is their speed likewise report to the HM. If I have your point wrong please enlighten me.
  23. From memory they had an exemption. Often they are going from one job to another. A minor delay that is not their fault snowballs - one example was a small boat anchored in the middle of the channel that would not shift. What is the wake like that the new pilot boat Wakatere puts out?
