  1. Should sound on power on to indicate no oil pressure. Should silence once diesel started and oil pressure built up. Test once diesel has started
  2. Whatever you decide to do do it quickly as all the moorings off the Half Moon Bay Marina hardstand and wave/tide wall will be relocated to make room for the new North Pier Marina. There is mooring just off the end of Wharf Road, Big Bucks. First row off the beach. The Harbourmaster has just recently taken an abandoned launch off it, complete with homeless guy. Launch is at the tip. Not sure where the homeless guy is. The harbourmaster may be amenable to you taking that one. There is a dinghy rack across the Parade in a small reserve with loos.
  3. What services will be available over the busy summer holiday period? There will be a new ‘visitor-pays’ summer service running for seven weeks from the end of December 2019 to early February 2020. Summer services will be available at Port Fitzroy wharf. A land-based drop-off point for boaties and visitors will be available at Port Fitzroy wharf. Fees will apply to incentivise visitors to sort and separate their waste. Visitors will need to purchase a pre-paid council rubbish bag or be able to pay at the drop-off point for the on-island disposal costs.
  4. Check out https://www.boatsecure.net This is an Auckland company.

Harrytom, Can you please add http:// to the beginning of links in your posts. The forum software then recognises it as a hyperlink and makes it clickable.
  7. The Commanche you see quite a bit in the lead is Commanche's position at the same time in 2017. The real Commanche is in the 4 boat bunch further back. There is only something like 6 nm separating the the four lead boats.

    iPads

The specs say it is an Android 6 tablet but there are a lot of reports on the net that the specs for this tablet, a ZH960, are fake and that it has adware and malware apps that cannot be removed. Buyer beware. Personally I would not touch it.

  10. I would contact Graeme Polley, the designer/manufacturer of the ZM4. info@smartregulator.co.nz 0274487027 Unless it is a fault in the ZM4 itself it will be a fault in the battery sense wiring. I have seen fuses go intermittent i.e the filament is broken but touching.

  12. Squelch level set to high? Speaker stuffed? Try using the AquaQuake function. You should hear a vibrating beep from the speaker.
  13. I have had 2 BEP LPG solenoids in the 30 years since I splashed my 88. The first lasted 15 years until the wiring to the coil corroded out. The second one has been on the boat for 10 years. I was down the boat yesterday and decided to test it out for leakage. None and there was no corrosion/rust on the bracket. The gas bottle and valve is in the port aft locker which spent quite few years with no locker door on and now only has a piece of Sunbrella fabric velcroed across it so hardly watertight. As I said earlier take it back to where you bought it from and if possible show them video or p
  14. Take it back to where you bought it from. If it is only 6 months old then under the Consumer Guarantees Act they should replace or refund.
  15. The picture was taken at a marina in Geneva during an ice storm in 2005. The iced up boats were all on piers on the breakwater. The ice was probably a result of wave spray on the breakwater.
  16. So your vessels are commercial or non-commercial vessels over 20 meters are they?
  17. I turn community edits off. I don't trust them. I suspect that some users use symbols other than say a fish to mark fishing spot X. Someone has marked a dangerous wreck with 0 meters water over it bang on top of the scallop bed in Hooks Bay.

^ If you are talking about Tara/Seamaster she is currently up in PNG waters.
  19. ^ The comment about putting the led bulb in a tricolor was for ex TL System. You should be fine.
  20. VERY likely to not cause issues with VHF reception. The bulb has a built-in EMI suppression circuit. Agree with you that one of these bulbs behind colored lenses will probably result in a blue color instead of green.
  21. Myjane, there are 2 coversations going on here. Lateral is talking about alloy dive bottles not lpg bottles All lpg bottles, whether alloy or steel need to be tested every 10 years from date of manufacture. My 9kg alloy bottle is about to have its 3rd test i.e it is 30 years old and I am expecting no issues.
  22. If you are talking about the Pacific VHF/AM/FM band splitter then it will not work. You may get lucky and find that a strong local VHF/AIS signal may get through the AM/FM band pass filter but it will be a very weak output signal and unreliable.
  23. Autogas on Springs Rd, East Tamaki is where I take my alloy bottles to be re-certified. My 30 yr old 9kg alloy bottle will need to be tested again before I next get it filled. Also get my bottles filled there.
