2017 Richmond Regatta
http://richmondyc.org.nz/racing/info/richmond-regatta/
Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th April 2017
2 Days of Windward Leeward RacingThis year we’re adding open divisions to the traditional RYC ‘Associations Regatta’ to give a wider range of our boats a chance at windward-leeward racing!
In addition to the usual associations, we are supporting any ‘class’ up to 31ft that can field 5 boats with their own start. Classes need to be close in performance, but do not necessarily need to be one-design or at ‘class rules’. Get your boats together and join!
Classes could include:
- Noelex 22, 25, 30
- Ross 780, 830, 930
- Trackers
- Marauders
- Reactors
- Magic 25
- Davidson 28
- Farr 9.2
- Farr 727
- Peidy
- Elliot 770
- etc… bring it!

Results for the 2017 Route 66 are now posted. It was a year for small boat glory, especially for the overall handicap singlehander Peter McLea on That Girl.
Also a note that we got A1 h/c and A2 Line wrong at the prizegiving, and so we especially want to recognise the results of Hot Dogger, Predator and Faster Coyote.
Kudos to the winners:

Overall Handicap: That Girl
A1 Line: Outrageous Fortune
A1 1st: Hot Dogger
A1 2nd: No Worries

A2 Line: Faster Coyote
A2 1st: Elevation
A2 2nd: Big Bikkies

Nice recap mark!
We'll get the results up early this week and post a link here, or just check the RYC results page.
Thanks to all the boats for coming out for what ended up being a very challenging race.
On top, a great dock party, great prizegiving, and a great return party at Kawau!
Working off memory of prize giving here so apologies for ommissions and errors.
Overall line + multi line : Timberwolf
overall h'cap + single handed : That Girldiv A1, line : Outrageous Fortune, h'cap No worries, Thirsty Work (2nd), Fun n Games (3rd)
div A2: line and h'cap Elevation, apologies can't remember, possibly Big Bikkies and Faster coyote
single handed, line Max, h'cap That Girl,
Multi : : h'cap Pulse and I think 2 of TenDon't ever recall a race with more zero to hero to zero moments. At least three restarts.
Basically a light but eventually dominant SW breeze fighting a NE sea breeze, plenty of park ups until you got clear of Cape Rodney which for most, was very late afternoon.

Fully crewed, multihull, and SOLO divisions, every finisher gets a bottle of RUM and there's a party on both nights (oh, and a cat 4+ coastal race with your mates...)!

Kawau is a traditional stop on the trip home from the Route 66 so we've teamed up with the Kawau Boating Club to have a club night ashore Saturday.
KBC have also given us some great spot prizes for Route 66 so you might come back with even more reason to pop in than the great facilities on shore.
Join us for a casual dinner and an opportunity to share race tales. RSVPs appreciated but not essential.Last update I had was 66 entries!

A little birdy tells me we have 59 entries... are you going to be the 60th.... go on you know you want to!!! Especially given the Wednesday morning forecast from our sponsor PredictWind below.
Plus check out the pics of the great finishing bags SailIQ have provided (filled with goodies like Route 66 'juice') - the black ones are for finishing fully crewed boats, the other for those in the Route 1 Single Handed Division.
Looks like beautiful weather this year - get your entries in by 5PM tonight!
Keep in mind that we are 2 days out so conditions can change. Starting from near Westhaven at 9am We have a light ESE breeze of around 6 knots. Once out of the harbour the breeze will fill in, building to around 13 knots mid morning. As the day progresses we are expecting about 15 knots as the breeze builds it goes EAST, with the possibility of ENE later in the day.
We have run the weather route for a Young 88. The weather router shows a rhumb line course for all 4 weather models we have and a race time of approx. 9 hours for a Young 88.
Below are the weather route pic and the wind map at 1pm Friday.
For more great weather and routing information, go to:http://www.predictwind.com/
