  1. Hopefully there will be another great series again this summer. Certainly Buckland's Beach YC will come up with another fantastic event. Who's interested this summer?
  2. Interesting all the new autos I've seen can be hosed to wash. Mine certainly can be. I'd recommend leg straps rather than a crutch strap. Way more comfortable.

    Someone has a new project.
  5. Familiar looking gennie Willow, X MB? X Carbon
  6. Josh only sails fast boats Kestrahl. Haven't you noticed? Or maybe all boats are fast when he's on board?
  7. What a great race. Thanks to Josh and Damon for their courage in pulling it together, to the SSANZ committee for backing it and to the finishing team on Duty Free for being there.The prizegiving was great with lots of good humour and good cheer. The start was pretty much what I expected with the windless zone covering the area. The breeze didn't really kick in until around midnight (from memory). We had a larger, and very light weigh,t overlapper on until just before Kawau when it became apparent that if we didn't drop it the wind would. Some gusty squalls saw us change to the number 3 and th
  8. Durapox then some clears in the last coat. Great sealer, great undercoat, nice sheen in the finish. Sands beautifully.
  9. WE HAD WEATHER. tHE FORECAST WAS CORRECT.
  10. 8 secs separation in those conditions is close. Just shows it ain't over till it's over. Well done on getting passed. I dropped the sheet and didn't get the jib off quickly enough. Gibing with masthead runners is hair raising in that breeze. Figuratively speaking that is.
  11. Good fleet with the leaders back by 1.00. Some good squirts of breeze came with the rain and made for a quick trip once we were able to bear away at the top of Motutapu. Congratulations to Bryon (Revolution Blues) the only boat to fly a kite.
  12. The Cool Change will be there.
  13. Back at it this weekend. One more coat of non-skid, fit the traveller and fine trim and we're ready. Shame I'll miss the Yates Cup.
  14. Good video about building in a confined space.
  15. There is no doubt that a 'do-it-youselfer' can save a lot.

    using durapox

    Yep Fun and games gave good advice. job done. The clear and the colours use the same hardener. alternatively the clear can be sprayed over the colour to give a full gloss finish.

    using durapox

    Was wondering if anyone has expert knowledge with this product. can I mix some of the clear finish with the undercoat to get a slight shine?
  18. a few year ago Dave did it on Crickey Dick single handed. About the same speed as a tracker. He got in before the cut-off, from memory.
  19. Faired and undercoated. Finish coats next weekend and non-skid then bolt everything back.
  20. Yeah I'm happy has cost me less than a grand and to date about seventy hours. Still needs final sand and paint though. Seems a shame to clutter the space with a traveller now.
  21. Got all of the glassing completed this weekend so now just the exterior paint and we're back in business.
  22. Hopefully will get it faired and undercoated this weekend.
