There was a ferro motor-sailer that came off about 2 years ago, ended up on the cliffs to the south. If salvaged within a week or so it could have been saved. But this was during Covid lockdowns, no-one was allowed, and so it stayed there for months until destroyed by nor-easterly blows. Last year the Torbay Sailing Club patrol boat ended up against the sea-wall. Quick thinking club members with tyres and buoys prevented it being bashed, and within a day it was saved and back out on the mooring.

For the Sched my crew texted in, got no response, then kept checking his phone for next 5 minutes. Then I texted in, got no response, then kept checking my phone for next 5 minutes. Then I called coastguard on VHF, got response immediately. Old technology wins! After the race we discovered that we did both a text response which took 7 or 8 minutes...

The 2 biggest wipeouts were - Hard Labour, who made a quick recovery and carried on, shouting "Yee Ha", and soon led the fleet - Psyche, who maybe had some damage, and promptly retired. Strangest retirement was Rogue, who sailed 95% of the course, but then went home after northern leading.
