  3. Scraping is the best to remove the bulk, I have then used acetone to remove the residue, but it will depend on exactly what has been used
  4. I have Warpaint over Alex No.5, Its been on for 3yrs, due for replacement, I've had no problems still working ok

  6. First thing I would have done is put in a new fuel filter, If that is cloged it creates a vacum and could allow air in to the system

    Stolen Yacht

  9. I have used a hiab truck to remove boat motors, make life much easier
  10. I put a steel rod thru the pin holes so you can pull aganst each other, when you put the hub back on make sure you put a good amout of marine grease on the spline

  15. You could also try you local wreckers or mechanic for an old cast Iron engine block they work well
  16. I have in mine the fuel / oil filter numbers, impeller numbers oil grade and quantity for engine and sail drive
  17. Sounds like a head gaskit , but could be in the heat exchanger too based of you coment about the reduced flow from the raw water flow

    Zinc (saltwater) rule of thumb was replace when 1/2 used

  22. I use lanolin seems to work ok, it is easy to remove the paddle wheel and can be re apply in the water too

    If your after weight reduction with your battery go lithium ion. Depending on how big your motor is you maybe able to use a motor cycle battery
