Go the Quarter Pint. Seemed to have done good on H/c and kept close to a SR on line, nice work.

Wired did a nice 'BMWO' on the fleet. Haven't fitted 2 Amas have they :)

Pretty varied fleet but looks to have been a few bunches of ding dongs going on working off finish times.

Weather report anyone?

We had a good run Fineline. It was a tight reach with the gennaker to flat rock in 10-12kts of breeze, we made pretty good speed most of the way which got us there in just over 3hrs. We were close enough to the 40fters to see most of them round the mark. Popped our biggest masthead kite after rounding, straight downwind run to cow and calf. The breeze disappeared for a while but built steadily to 15kts the further we went. Hardly any swell to launch off so no big surfs but still sitting at 10-12kts once the breeze filled in max was 14.7kts in a gust. Saw the nav lights of 4-5 boats round cow and calf in front. Got rid of the kite and then settled in for the beat home. The crew worked hard all the way to hold our own. We caught and passed Whitebait about an hour out. Finished about 40mins behind Outrageous Fortune, Cosmic Cruise and Urban Cowboy which we were pretty happy with.

12:00 and somewhere between waking up and being exhausted from last night! Here's our little trip report.

We had a great start courtesy of Mike Smith whom we had tricked to do the last race with us; windward of everyone and right on the mark. Not bad seeing we had missed the warning signal and were guessing on the time. Jib top to about rangi and then onto a -sail which we held all the way to flatrock. To us it appeared a lot of the larger boat had gone high to keep pressure in headsails and we sailed through between them and the mark, in front of at least 8 boats. Down hill to cow was somewhat painfull trying to balance some power in the boat and soaking to the mark, still got down there not too far behind the bigger boats. Had never come that way around the cow and almost found the reef that comes out of the end.

Then on the wind fo what seems like eternity.. about 7 hours. Did our best to work the shifts through Tam strt but also pushing tide so sailed fat and and as fast as possible with no 2 headsail. The SR26 suffered badly as wind picked up as they were two handed and we sailed through them, they went to a smaller headsail and hung in there but could not get back to us.

Some terrible shifts around browns tacked us back almost back towards passage rock and we were thinking the last 14 hours were in vain knowing the big boats would have sailed straight through with-out 20 knots west and tide pushing the wrong way! Finshed at 1129 with several bigger boats close in sight and the Sr behind us.

Best thing about the race and series: Doing well in races that are big boat focused/orientated. Worst thing.. hey..being lonely! Great to have the SR26 with us and hoping more small-ish boats do the series next year! Really good fun!
