Boat In A Hole – Saga of a Cellar

Some months back there was a discussion here about what can be done with old glass boats that are past their use by date. I came across a story about a couple that wanted a cellar and they decided that burying a boat would be a cheap way to achieve a cellar.

The boat selected was 29 feet. It seems to have been a reject from a boat building factory as still didn’t have all the holes cut for ports, prop etc. They said that the total cost of the project was a little less than $700.

hmm does not look properly drained. if it rains hard, the "boat" is likely to float out of the ground!! I guess they thought it would give them an easy solution to a dry cellar??

Wouldn't be a hard problem to solve IT, just put a hydro static valve in the bottom to relieve any pressure. Same as in a swimming pool.
