He has won awards for his enthusiasm to weather. Bob has been involved in a variety of campaigns including two America’s Cups, Swashbucklers attempt to cross Tasman Sea & circumnavigate NZ, involved with Earth Race and Jessica Watson to circumnavigate the world. Bob McDavitt has been in Auckland since 1992 focusing on promoting friendly relations with weather users. This involves communicating awareness about any incoming nasty weather, keeping an eye on the impact of the weather on the coming season and any special events, and arranging MetService promotions, displays, and exhibitions. He also continues to help sailors cruising around the South Pacific.
