Frickie 9
Nice course too. Has straight bits and corners and not too long. So anyone half tempted should join us!
RWC 2
Yes indeed. A good course and generally a good breeze to get around. The DYC event details are at http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series/single-handed-race Please note the 2 divisions and respective flag colours which differ from the Vining Marine series. There is one amendment posted for this event which relates to the time limit: Attention is drawn to NOR clause: 6.1 There will be no time limit. This clause remains valid for boats participating in the DYC Single Handed Race. For boats competing in the Vining Marine Single Handed Series Race 9 and not looking for a result in the DYC Single Handed Race, clause 6.1 is amended to read: 6.1 A time limit of 1700 Saturday 8th applies. If one boat finishes within the time limit, then the time limit for all divisions will be extended by 30 minutes. This is to cater for the Vining Marine Series prizegiving same evening. Prizegiving for the DYC side of things will happen Easter Sunday in the exotic venue of Mahurangi on a beach somewhere. Thanks to our DYC sponsor Lorraine Wood at Barfoot & Thompson Devonport and Vining Marine too.
RWC 2
To clarify, there is no dinghy requirement for this race. DYC General Sailing Instructions make a requirement to carry or tow a dinghy under section 4, however DYC Short Handed Series SI [which covers the Single Handed Race] then states that "Single Handed Race Sailing Instruction section 4 does not apply" http://www.dyc.org.nz/sailing-programme/sailing-instructions/short-handed-series Conditions looking great! RWC 2
Thanks to all for joining, looked like a top day on the water. Results are in but we'll hold off posting the full race results till the Vining Marine Series prizegiving is complete. Thanks and see you all next year!
