Teak supply

There are likely to be some suppliers - $$$

Can you do it in some other kind of wood?

 

I've found discarded garden furniture and BBQ sometimes have some quite nice wood. 

 

Otherwise, a piece like that could be cut from a dead Pohutukawa (hard/strong/durable) or a piece of Puriri (even harder) sometimes sold as firewood. You could also press a suitable piece of Kanuka into service - incredibly hard, just watch grain orientation. 

 

Unless you desperately absolutely need teak of course...
