Interesting decision by the arbitration panel about the nationality rule... anyone who holds a passport by the time the challenger series starts qualifies. So Malta (in general anyone) is free to recruit whoever they want, as long as they can get their government to play along... https://www.sail-world.com/news/214421

That’s pretty interesting. Seems against the intent of the rule, but maybe they should have worded it better?

 

Or maybe it was designed that way? So challenges from big countries with legit governments had to do it the hard way and small or corrupt countries, who don’t tend to be amongst the best challengers anyway, can sneak in this way?
