Jon 355
I hadn’t seen that doco for a while, something that one should watch every decade Equally a lot has changed in what’s almost 30 years, but the weathers ability to surprise hasn’t

But with a rapidly developing storm, a lot of boats are going to struggle to get out of its way. Its human nature to think we have advanced and these old disasters wont happen to us again... Sadly that was the case with Essence, they were in shorts and Tee shirts the day before they came to grief. That being said I was a bit surprised when they left Fiji because the outlook was not great for their arrival off the NZ coast.

The two Commodore computer escorts rally cars were pretty cool. I remember we used to set up a track on the farm in cowcop and have a ball with anything that had a motor and a steering wheel. Good times. Yeah but watching that doco certainly hit home. Cheers mate Steve

skiff12 6
last words were never made public off the Quartermaster and were only played to a few during an investigation including a senior yacht inspector in the interview room of the Warkworth police station ,The facts from that recording are even more freighting than what everyone else ever heard
