Black Panther 654
About 5 boatlengths
Black Panther 654
So i got interested enough to look at the, chart. Pretty tight. I think i would like to do it in daylight and reasonable weather before tackling it single handed in the dark. Even then I would be paying attention and reserve the right to opt out. Fish 594
It would be 2 handed. And there should be a few dozen other boats out, if you aren't fast enough, they will show you the way. If one suddenly stops moving (or their masthead light lurches forward, then stops) just go on the deep water side of them and you will be fine. The only issue would be if its easterly or SE, then everyone will be tacking up that little narrow channel. What could go wrong? I mean we hardly ever get easterlies, or south easterlies, do we? How many have we had in the last week or so? It is a La Nina year, but we only get north easterlies in La Nina's don't we?

ex Elly 51
I think the Waikato Trailer Yacht Squadron used to race through there in the 100 miler race. Clipper
