Island Time 1,235
Ok, I admit I have a spare princess. I was keeping it for me, but... Thermocouple - you can buy new ones. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32787929278.html Or, clean the old one is all they normally need.
vic008 17
Hi, any answer for me? The burner no go. That spring loaded thing just behind the front busted.Have stripped but dont see how can repair. So only one burner going.

Steve Pope 243
If you find what you want, buy a couple of spares so when the next one fails you can fix it asap.
vic008 17
Built in the wee square plate, is the spring, then the carbon(?)thing, then contacts(I think, offhand) Hose is removed. This is the gizmo that goes click and auto ignites.
Romany 162
what happened to the guys that made these? in East Tamaki,

When I got my Prince refurbished by Fred 10+ years ago it came back like new with new burners, polished etc. It wasn't cheap but cheaper than buying a new marine stove. Fred said at the time he was running out of parts to do refurbs.
twisty 176
I have a Mariner princess 4 burner which I have kept for spares. I am happy to sell it if somebody wants to make me a decent offer.
vic008 17
Im in the market for a burner, but cant take a whole with an oven a nd all
Above-the-Fold 15
I have a Mariner Princess two-burner that works very well except that the grill thermocouple went a couple of years back. I couldn't get any clarity on whether the themocouples were standard parts, so that an aftermarket substitute would work. And when I asked I got a caution that gasfitters are reluctant to work on the old stoves and likely to just throw their hands up and tell me to get a new one. So do I understand from this discussion that they are standard and can be replaced from this US company? MS

Hey Bradz, did you get any joy from Aliexpress? FWIW, I also tried to clean my grill thermocouple to no avail.
Bradz 18
Yes, replaced the thermocouple with aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32787929278.html I should have ordered 4 to have one spare. No doubt the others will fail at some point. If you order, do so with the slowest shipping, make them cheap as chips. If you are in urgent need I have one spare you could have now while waiting for shipping.
Above-the-Fold 15
Bradz, thanks for this. There's no hurry, since we can't get to NZ anyway and couldn't get in if we could. But with any kind of luck, we'll be there next summer and before then I will order from aliexpress. I'll pick your brain about how they are replaced closer to the day. best MS
Island Time 1,235
I know this thread is a bit old, but I came across this today - a NZ company repairing Mariner ovens https://www.southernplumbing.co.nz/mariner-regal-oven-stove-repair-wellington/
