Guys,

Can anyone help us with costs involved in exporting a NZ Yacht to Australia please?

I assume there is duty (anyone know the rate?) and GST (10%), is there anything else?

Thanks for any help

At ABB we have done Several yachts to Australia The cost on a nz built boat is only the 10% GST on the boat and seafreight if shipping is used or on the delivery fee (No Duty)

hope that helps

Thanks Guys,

So my understanding of the cost is :

1.GST on boat and delivery cost ( @ 10%)

2. No duty payable as boat is built in NZ

No other costs or taxes?

Cheers

There will be other costs , maf at the port of discharge and offloading charge (PSC) customs clearance here and in Australia, suggest you contact Burnards (advertiser on this site) and get them to work up a quote

Hi Dave

Don't forget insurance, customs clearance, maf over there, surveyor fees for the tie down, customs agent fees in Oz, crane hire? truck transport, loading costs here, washing it first, riggers both sides of the ditch?, pretty expensive bit of water the Tasman, let's sail her over.

Fly the bugger, it's often cheaper than by ship. We got 2 x 225kg anchors flown to Melly for just under $400. Shipped 140kg of chain to Sydney and it cost more :?

Too much empty cargo holds in some aircraft apparently.
