Looking at the trackers from div 1, 2 and from the Team Australia vs Team Vodafone battle staying closer into shore was the right move. Those that went out to see have found themselves in trouble while the boats closer in have moved forward.

Bad news for the little pocket rocket. Tongue Twister are taking on water and are going for shelter.

Hope every stays safe

Ogre reports the wind is 10-15 knots from the south west.

From the Kia Kaha facebook page.

Guessing about 4 hours to Brett (if all goes smoothly)

Tight reaching - Georgia pulled away from us. They are hard to keep up within these conditions.

Ahead of all other 50s

Is it all on for line honors? from the coastal site

As we write, Team Australia has rounded Cape Brett, with TeamVodafone just two miles behind. We expect a finish within thirty minutes.

In time for it to be reported on the sports news.

Taeping are by Elizabeth reef. On the wind in a beautiful breeze. Have had a great tussel with Giacomo with a few lead changes but they are currently way ahead. We need the westerly to kick in as the guys on charlston are hanging on really well in quite lumpy conditions. No sign of rain and looking at a 10pm finish.

From te Coastal site about half a hour ago

At 520pm, Georgia was leading the big 52s (including Wired and V5) which were overlapped with each other. By 540pm, it was obvious to him that the wind out to sea was going even further right, and several boats on Starboard were coming back into the coast hoping for a SW change.

By 555pm, the rain preceeded a heavy squal and stronger winds.

He reckons the SW will be here real soon.

SuperBird to Cruise have dissmasted. When the Coast Guard asked where they were heading they answered know where. Great to see that Graham still has a sense of humor despite things not going to plan.

Elevation doing 12's very wet - as an E7 owner I can really empathise with that. However, part of me is also questioning the sanity of such a venture in such a small low wooded beast... go Elevation!

Taeping and charleston are starting to get a move on. Taeping are doing 15 knots while charleston are doing 14. That should get them to the finihs line faster.
