I saw them do the Volvo 70's in Melborune 2006

 

The "Boys" boat in the background going under the Westgate bridge, I think.

Bolte Bridge actually. They did that for each boat.

Very cool, but that could go wrong so fast, in so many ways! :roll:

 

Sure can, but with the keel canted to one side the loads on rig and tow boats etc aren't as big as it looks.

A vessel got into trouble....for their own reasons, the crew decided to get off.

A mayday was sent. Aircraft were dispatched.

It was decided to divert a freighter. The crew was taken off.

Damage number one.

This vessel then sailed itself quite happily and parked itself in tact on a beach....

Damage number two...

It was salvaged and then towed to a marina....

Straight under a bridge that was way too low!!!!

Damage number three....

 

This has just happened.
