Offshore race courses that turn left at Pencarrow

I am really enjoying the offhsore calendar in Wellington. However I would like to turn left after Pencarrow at least once, just to see some of that coastline from at sea (I've been down there overland exploring).

 

Are there any past courses that way (except the Gisbourne Race)?

 

I thought a Ngawi race would be one possibility. Get a Fisherman to drop a buoy in the bay off Ngawi... and out and back across Palliser Bay.

 

Or White Rock or Castlepoint and back?

RNI turns left. Advantage too is hopefully a good kite ride past Karori first or at least a good ride into the harbour if southerly
