About Oceanix: Being completely mobile and equipped for all jobs Oceanix can be found at the Tauranga Bridge Marina and Sulphur Point Marina working on yachts and powerboats on the water or in the yard, or inside their Mount Maunganui airport hangar polishing smaller trailer boats and luxury cars. They also travel to maintain vessels and vehicles on-site and are fully Insured and approved to work in Marinas and Ship Yards around the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel. Oceanix use the highest quality products, tools, and equipment and are certified application specialists for Feynlab, who produce top-level marine and vehicle grade hydrophobic ceramic coatings providing essential protection from the elements, along with the ultimate in high-end, and highly sought-after finishes for owners wanting to look after their investments. About the Job: Detailing work will involve one-off professional wash-downs and detailing through to ongoing maintenance programs, using hand-held machinery for gel coat oxidization removal, cutting, polishing, and wax application; repair and restoration of teak decks and stainless steel; engine room and interior cabin clean; Strada glass and window water spot removal and treatments; vinyl and carpet steam cleans and more as required. As it's mostly outdoor work the hours do vary, so flexibility is required. Remuneration will reflect your experience and Oceanix pays well for its loyal crew. About You: Our ideal applicant will be with us for the long term, keen to start a career in superior detailing with Oceanix Yacht Care, and flexible to do more hours in the summer and sometimes less over winter (we don't work over the Christmas and New Year period, so you still get a good summer holiday). However, this job may also suit someone looking for experience before getting into deckhand work on a superyacht; or someone who has come back to NZ and is keen to utilize their skills and experience from working on boats, or you may just be looking for part-time work while you study, or to supplement another role in a different industry. In the past, we have had Uni students who are back for holidays and have come back to us each busy season, along with permanent part-time and full-time employees. Our Must Haves: You enjoy working outdoors and are physically fit and strong enough to handle tools and machinery. A full car license is preferred, as you may be required to drive the van. You live in the Tauranga region and have your own reliable transport to get to work locally. You are well-presented and take pride in yourself and your work. You have a good eye for detail and a passion for perfection! Flexible to work part-time hours between Monday to Friday and the occasional Saturday morning. You are either an NZ Citizen or Resident or hold a current Work Visa. Nice to Have, but Not Essential: Ideally, you will have hands-on experience using polishing tools. You may hold an STCW and have experience with super yachts. You may already have your Working at Heights, or be keen to invest in gaining certification.
