Guest Posted April 17, 2011 Share Posted April 17, 2011 Put a 12 year old up our rig today in the middle harbour to retrieve the spinnaker halyard which had let go (it was mid-regatta so couldn't wait til we were back in the marina). 12 years olds who know what they're looking at, and can follow instructions (of course!), are way easier to winch up the mast than winching up another adult or doing it yourself.
