Guest
These guys are planning on having some racing next weekend. I would be keen to watch but does any one know where they will be racing and how far out they will go?
Guest
From what mr news guy said, they will lay a 'spectator friendly' course. Any guesses at where it could be? http://tvnz.co.nz/sailing-news/good-ame ... eo-4708771
Guest
I understand the racing will be in the northern leading area. One report i read suggested adjacent to North Head.
Guest
I understand the racing will be in the northern leading area. One report i read suggested adjacent to North Head. Thats what I was thinking as well as it would really be the only spectator friendly viewing area. Now all I have to do is to get me a good camera

Guest
UPDATE ON THE COURSE Just an update on the best viewing spot for the racing today. The courses have been set inside the harbour rather than past North Head, so the end of Beaumont Street around the Wynyard Quarter area provide ideal viewing.
Guest
Well that was interesting, watching the AC45's a close quarters. They are fast and stop in half a boat length. (without hitting anything). A number of fishos also had close up views of the action. Can't wait to see the big cats when they are launched. Apparently the sailing area for the AC in SF is narrower than the inner waitemata, 45 sec beats so expect to see the guys training in the inner harbour.
