Guest
Hi David, we're running a regatta from Sloane's Beach (between Herne Bay and Cox's Bay) this Saturday. We're calling it The Centreboard Cup and it's got an emphasis on traditional craft, but all are welcome. There'll be lots of activities with a prize giving and live music on the beach after the race. L-class Mullet Boats are entering the race with the Ponsonby Cruising Club and all other participants will enter on the day, down at the beach. There's a race briefing at 1000hrs and we'll be starting the centreboarders over 20' at 1100hrs. The course is basically two laps round Watchman Island with the start/finish line set by the Ponsonby Cruising Club off Sloane's Beach. The race is also commemorating the 100th anniversary of the original Richmond Cruising Club-house. I've attached a poster with the basic info. All the best, Nick
Guest
We are taking Jollyboat and Opti. Not sure how much racing we'll complete as it is a family day for us. Forecast is great.
Guest
A great day. Plenty of good cheer, families, mucking about in boats, and a bit of racing. Thanks to the Pons for bringing Watchman up to be RC. Thanks to the Richmond Yacht Club for their attendance. The L Class plus H Class Arawa were in race mode with about 10 boats and racing hard. Orion just held out Tamatea. Other attendees were in Idle Alongs, Gary was there with his skimmer, a Shoalcraft, starlings, windsurfers, sailing dinghies. All sorts. In the background the CYA were doing a harbour course. The sun was shining, and the water was warm. Perfect.
