    Weiti Boating Club Movie night "The Mercy" - Thursday 15 March

    Weiti Boating Club is fundraising for a community defibrillator to be kept at the club.

     

    Don’t missing this amazing movie about amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst and his solo attempt to circumnavigate the globe. The struggles he confronted on the journey while his family awaited his return is one of the most enduring mysteries of recent times. Starring Colin Firth and Rachel Weisz.

     

    Everyone is invited, friends, family, work colleagues, invite everyone, get a group together.

    Come early and have a drink and pizza at the cafe or order a pizza which will be delivered to your seat while the movie is on.

    Thursday 15 March at Hoyts Whangaparaoa, be there by 6.15pm.

     

    $20 a ticket including an ice-cream or popcorn or soft drink.

    Custodian & Haulage Operator required at Weiti Boating Club

    Hey Mat, hope this okay to post this, if not please remove. Thanks Katie :)

     

     

    Our custodian and haulage operator, has decided to retire and spend more time out boating.  We need to find a replacement.

     

    The Custodian & Haulage Operator plays a very important role at the club and must be a people person with a love of boating.  A large part of the job is the operation of our haulage and hardstand facilities and regular maintenance of the club’s assets.

     

    If you are a friendly, hard working person who thrives in a dynamic environment then this could be for you.

     

    Skills Required

    ·         Working knowledge of boats.

    ·         Proven practical skills in general maintenance.  Building, plumbing & electrical experience an advantage.

    ·         Experience with tractors or large vehicles and reversing large loads.

    ·         Full driver’s license class 1.

    ·         Basic mechanical knowledge an advantage.

    We used to do the Weiti Boating Club/Gulf Harbour B & T 2 handed series with 4 and 7 year old until one of the yachts racing got all silly last year and was going to protest us.  The funny thing was they are more of a handicap than ballast and we sail better with out them!!!!  This year we have not raced due to this as I would rather spend time with the family.
