  1. As above, take them to Actron.

Five years hydro test for the CO2 and a periodic pressure test (normally 5years) for the others if they are the rechargeable type. - should state on the label if it is still there

  2. Don't you believe it. They're prosecuting a supernnuatant friend of mine for not declaring he was receiving money from his mums estate, about $10k a year. Because He doesn't have the money to fight it They'll be cutting his super until it is paid back.

I thought the Super is not means tested.

I know of a good number that get it and are earning 100k+ a year working.

If you were on a benefit when going onto the super you need to declare that.

    Or is it tax related?

The money from his mum's estate - could it be classed as a gift?

  3. Purisan did a system - I know of at least one boat in Northland using it. Will try and get the spec.

    Rules for mooring areas

Under Northland rules, it's illegal to stay overnight in a mooring area – even at anchor – without a proper way of treating or containing your boat's sewage. This means having:

    • a well-maintained treatment system that complies with the Marine Pollution Regulations; or
    • an appropriate sewage containment system like a holding tank or 'porta-potty'.

After a maximum of five nights' stay (not necessarily consecutive) in a mooring area, sewage in a boat's containment system must be appropriately discharged – that is, at a pump-out station or well outside of any harbour in an area where sewage can legally be discharged at sea).

Though all of Northland's harbours are strictly 'no discharge' areas, these additional rules for mooring areas help us keep our harbours free of sewage.

  4. The downside is that the props aren't cpp (controlled pitched propellers) so docking becomes harder as the shafts have to come to a complete stop before changing direction and the megastar requires a large amount of cooling.

Could never understand why they went for FPP over CPP. Probably made it a cheaper build...

  5. Right click on the photo and select properties then select the URL from the window that came up, use ctrl+c.

  6. You wouldn't have wanted us that close to you as the dudes aboard haven't sailed a skiff for a combined total of 37 years. So can you now pick which boat we were?

Pulled the kite up the 1st time only to find it's got some silly ball that caught on the shrouds. Got over that and got rocking only to have the tiller extension fall off in my hand OH CRAP!!!!!! but made a good save and didn't go tits up. We had a few teething issues but also had a ball so given sail or 2 more we'll come right. In a straight line we weren't slower than the white kite and they have sailed Javs no stop for a decade so pretty happy about that bit. So we have decided are dangerous on any course that doesn't have any rounding marks as changing direction is still causing the odd issue

Maybe it needs another ball....

  7. In old conservatory found a soft spot in corner, lift the carpet to find a previous repair, decided to lift all carpet to replace damaged particle board - found there were cork tiles under the underlay - so if I replaced particle board there would be a need to level the floor - easy answer - garden spade to lift old tiles (also scrapped a lot of the glue off) - replace particle board where damaged - belt sander to smooth it all - painted it then carpet tiles on top to make it look nice.

  8. Not totally marine related but....

We started moving onto our new place. over the last few days we shifted 3 truckloads, & 3 car &trailer loads.

We now have a few Acres of land, a house, a 3 bay implement shed with power, + lots of trees.

Now the marine / boating part is that we will have room to house a boat project if someone needs the space. Covered space will be limited to 1 bay of the implement shed + part of the enclosed bay.

Anyone interested just let me know.
