The downside is that the props aren't cpp (controlled pitched propellers) so docking becomes harder as the shafts have to come to a complete stop before changing direction and the megastar requires a large amount of cooling.
Could never understand why they went for FPP over CPP. Probably made it a cheaper build...

Right click on the photo and select properties then select the URL from the window that came up, use ctrl+c.
then go to crew and paste the url into the post and enclose it using the img button.

Did that run on a steam launch a few years ago, 3ft draft, touched twice, sticky mud.
Long oar came in handy.

Hope to be testing a Win 8 tablet shortly, company testing a different product.
On the modern nav gear - it is nearly all dependant on GPS for positioning. How easy is it to put a position on the plotter from compass bearings?

Got the chainsaw out and chopped up stuff...

What sort of chain saw did you get?
I have a Pioneer 620s and a liitle Sthil aborist chiansaw.
The little one is good for harvesting avos via the chainsaw method - the pioneer is a bit heavy for me when 20-30ft up a tree.

You wouldn't have wanted us that close to you as the dudes aboard haven't sailed a skiff for a combined total of 37 years. So can you now pick which boat we were?
Pulled the kite up the 1st time only to find it's got some silly ball that caught on the shrouds. Got over that and got rocking only to have the tiller extension fall off in my hand OH CRAP!!!!!! but made a good save and didn't go tits up. We had a few teething issues but also had a ball so given sail or 2 more we'll come right. In a straight line we weren't slower than the white kite and they have sailed Javs no stop for a decade so pretty happy about that bit. So we have decided are dangerous on any course that doesn't have any rounding marks as changing direction is still causing the odd issue
Maybe it needs another ball....

In old conservatory found a soft spot in corner, lift the carpet to find a previous repair, decided to lift all carpet to replace damaged particle board - found there were cork tiles under the underlay - so if I replaced particle board there would be a need to level the floor - easy answer - garden spade to lift old tiles (also scrapped a lot of the glue off) - replace particle board where damaged - belt sander to smooth it all - painted it then carpet tiles on top to make it look nice.

So was first looked at in 2005. Sounds good.
Are they still going to build the bridge?

$6mill is one penthouse in the new development at Westhaven.
if it was paid in any other country some might call it a facilitation payment inn other a bribe

infill from the end of orakei wharf to the tip of tamaki yachtclub, solid just below water breakwater for the rest of okahu and hobson bays to maintain tidal flows/ patterns etc , combined area for public and dinghy sailing on the infill area created west of tamaki yacht club (could also relocate kohi YC there as well), decent protected combination mooring/ marina area west of orakei wharf to damn near the container wharf and easily financed by shitbox condo's in the westhaven area, would pop the rum races in decent water as well
I heard a figure of $6million had to be paid just to get a marina development the go ahead and that was not part of the official payments - wonder what it would cost for the consents for the above

Not totally marine related but....
We started moving onto our new place. over the last few days we shifted 3 truckloads, & 3 car &trailer loads.
We now have a few Acres of land, a house, a 3 bay implement shed with power, + lots of trees.
Now the marine / boating part is that we will have room to house a boat project if someone needs the space. Covered space will be limited to 1 bay of the implement shed + part of the enclosed bay.
Anyone interested just let me know.

if you can take the gas bottle ashore when not out sailing they tend to last longer.

I know of one system using a 'satelite compass' - it is always alarming at low speeds or when the vessel is drifting / stopped. It is 4 years old so maybe the newer ones are better

Cannot remember the name or year (but before 1900) the vessel was posted missing after departing Melbourne but turned up at it's destination in Noumea 6 months overdue, not sure if all crew / passengers survived.
