khayyam 77
I need to repair or replace our old plastic drinking water tank. It's developed a leak along the seam. Ideally I could find a replacement of the same size, as it fits perfectly under the berth. A quick trip to burnsco/smart/sailors was no good for a match. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement (75cmx30cmx14cm, approx 31 L)? Or if there's a way of repairing the seam on the old tank?
Guest
Depending on the plastic, it is possible to get plastic welding done. Would be cheaper than a new tank, but Iif you have to get a new one, go stainless. For a box shape you might just be surprised how cost effective it is to have it fabricated to your own specs. Guest
Contest is right. Get it welded. Most use ultrasound and the welds seem as good as new. Industrial Plastics in East Tamaki fixed a bilge pump for me and its as strong as new!
