Guest
I'd really like a composting toilet aboard but I may need to design and build it myself as the spot where it will be is best used to the max. Not worried about the carbon thing probably use ply and epoxy. I want to put it behind the nav station in the quarter berth area. What I need advice on is how to separate the number one and two. How to set up a turning device to facilitate composting. A two chamber system to allow one lot to compost while the other is in use appeals also.
threescompany 0
There's plenty of examples to be found using google - since space is going to be a problem then you may be looking at buckets and sawdust e.g. see towards the end of http://www.omick.net/composting_toilets/composting_toilets.htm Also wooden boat have quite a few postings http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread.php?114077-Nature-s-Head-vs.-Air-Head-Toilet Separating out the urine can be as easy as adding a splitter under the seat see http://www.littlehouse.co/shop/separett-privy-500/ or simply had a funnel connected to a hose going out through the hull above the waterline. This was a solution I saw on a catamaran and would probably not work on a heeler. Check out Good luck Rory
