A NEW 18 FOOTER STARWARS 'YACHT' TO BE BUILT IN AUCKLAND

A small fast 'yacht' being drafted by an Australian marine architect said it is one of the most revolutionary sailing configurations he'd ever seen. His words, 'very innovative and revolutionary, possibly third dimension/Starwars thinking'.....but when seen and explained, it becomes wholly logical. ONLY 6? people have viewed it at this stage. The next remark was typically Aussie, "whakatane!!!! you would have to make a whole new type of yacht club because of this baby!!!" According to him, because of the sail and hull configuration there wont be many 'in the water' experiences. The downfall? it only carrys 1 plus 2 crew – or a solo. It was explained to him that the ONLY market we were interested in....family and the fastyacht enthusiast/nutter adventurer. He understood.

Kia Ora......we're a coupla Maoris based in NSW and want to create a new yacht entity that is wholly New Zealand......we've named it "wokka" for obvious reasons and we're on this forum to see if there is interest from a financial investor and yacht advisory people. The advantage of the ummmm, 'yacht' is that it has possibly another 3 or 4? configurations that take it to other areas of sailing. Literally.

The whole project will be administered out of Auckland with the patent from NZ as well........obviously until patent pend is finalised we wont be able to show pix......but happy to discuss the poss of the concept. Initial prototypes would be 18 foot (3 man) and 14 foot solo, which we think is ideal for the mad adventurer, fast sailer, speed freak. Wanting to know if there is interest in a (very) fast revolutionary yacht??????

Have been looking thru forum and see there is a lot of sceptiscism about different posts......if you're thinking this is an ad???? well, in truth if we're looking for an investor - yes! our thinking says this is prob the BEST place (in our estimation) to find one.......we are real-deal on finding genuine feedback......sheeeesh! surely the Maori's (Ngati Taranaki and Ngati Kaiaua!!!) bit gives us some credibility!!!! hahahahaha, being 'whanau' and all that! Have a bill for AU$5k to get the initial design drawings up for presentations (will use old chunky ones to start with with non disclosure agreement first) and currently talking to different NZ patent attorneys - expect their bill to be at least NZ$120k?.....so IF you think we're just a bunch of fallas having a tutu......sorry. We're dead earnest in getting this thing up. Might take us a little while, but.......Sir Ed didn't get up THAT hill in one day did he? or did he do it in one day? can't remember. Churrrrrrrr

....John Mac eh.

Give us a year.

That's all.

One year.

We cant do it in a day. But it will be a wholly New Zealand entity. Few hurdles to jump. But can be done.

Kia Ora.

Three bits of advice.

- Don't waste your time or bucks Patenting in only NZ, that will stop exactly zero people copying it. Besides a Patent is only worth what you are willing to spend to defend it and if you have too 120K will only be chump change come the final invoice.

- You'll need to sharpen your presentation skills a lot.

- If you are 'a coupla Maoris' just go see one of the Iwis. They are cash rich and been known to invest in just about anything, sound or knot.

I doubt you'll get much interest without tickling someones fancy and there is no way those posts will do that. "We have a new yacht that is wizz bang" is a phrase heard almost weekly, just as 'It didn't pan out' is also heard a few months later.

Give the viewers something to view. If it is that wizz bang it will involve something you can't see in pictures. Also come up with reasons why someone would want to invest, a coupla Maoris looking for bucks are common as muck over here so that is nothing new nor unique.

It was explained to him that the ONLY market we were interested in....family and the fastyacht enthusiast/nutter adventurer

Just how does 'family' match with 'nutter adventurer'?

Naaaah, we're just plain Maoris who want to do something for New Zealand and not do it here. The thing is, we wouldn't know the first step on how to approach an Iwi (thats a tribe with money, right?) and secondly, we're New Zealanders FIRST.......so the tribe thing is out of our knowledge box.....we're quite partisan about it though and will just keep plugging along. Wanted some constructive info, that's all.

It's a New Zealand thing.

Nothing to do with Oz.

I thought Kiwis would want that....including Pakehas.

All we need is 1 year. Thx.
