SloopJohnB 322
Another tease Hi, I've been involved in the class from quite early on although i did not get a chance to weigh much on deciding the parameters of the rule. I think these can be great boats to sail: fast, safe and relatively easy. While the inside can be turned into something fairly warm and accomodating... Although tempting for quite a few, the class is struggling to start and reach critical number. Given the numerous classes and events, it is hard to draw decent interest into the class. The boats also end up relatively expensive. However, in a place where offshore sailing isn't so crowded and with good, dynamic management and clever cost restrictions measures the class definitely has potential. I have sailed on a class 950 and there are definitely great little toys. My personal opinion is that they might not need so much beam and upwind sail area... Making them a bit more versatile will not hurt that much. If interested, the FoX 950 'Cool Runnings' featured on the front page a few days ago is up for sale (Boat currently lying in Germany). If interested, please contact me (see details here: http://www.fox-tech.co.uk/contact_us.html ) Cheers, Charles From SA http://forums.sailinganarchy.com/index. ... pic=100815
