quarter ton cup

10 knots today after a delay of several hours waiting for the wind to come in.

Race one we hung in there for the first half of the beat and basically weren't fast enough on he wind. Had a tangle with another boat at the seperation mark, which we had to tack for. Really need clear lanes with no boats to leeward.

Felt like we struggled around the course.

Race 2 started at pin bar one. Course quite scew with not very much Starboard.

Got stuck on port layline and had to follow in. Hit seperation mark. Our fault but they can't lay a course to save themselves.

On the last run, we suprised ourselves with downwind pace. Past 5 boats. Results around us are very close, with one second seperating many boats.

While we realise that today could have been better, we are not disappointed. Forecast tomorrow for more wind. We are only a click down on the wind and are powering the main up more, by tightening the lowers a bit tomorrow.

The Aguila owner can't sail tomorrow and had his request for substitute helmsman, Ben Ainslie (you may of heard of him) denied.

Is that the same Bullitt If so she must be out of half ton trim and in quarter ton trim for the first time (or sailed by plonkers).....

When did they get to put 6 people on board or are they doing a max weight thing. Must be quite crowded? Barely enough jobs for 4....

No it's not the Bullit that came to Panmure in 1980 she is still sailing in Tahiti

Calling all Kiwi 1/4 & 1/2 ton owners next years classic 1/4 & 1/2 series is on the weekend of 10-11th March at Panmure no ratings just has to have been a rated boat 1970 - 1980 and still in near trim.
