Notice – 23-12 Flare Demonstration Marine Rescue Centre Tuesday 19 June 2012 The public are advised that a flare demonstration will be hold from the Marine Rescue Centre Mechanics Bay on Tuesday night 19 June 2012. Between the hours of 1930 and 2030 Coastguard Northern Region will fire 8 Parachute red distress flares and 5 Handheld red distress flares. This is a training exercise for Coastguard Volunteers only and on sighting of these flares no action is to be taken by the public and should not be regarded as a distress situation. Should any other flare be sighted before, during or after this exercise, it is to be treated as a real distress situation.
