Located beside the Birkenhead ferry, the club has been reinvigorated by keen sailors and families over the past few years. The summer season is fast approaching, and the club is calling for expressions of interest for the 2012-13 learn-to-sail season. No matter where your sailing is at, NBYC offers Yachting New Zealand certified courses at all levels, with skilled coaches to develop your sailing knowledge and abilities. A variety of boats are available to use on learn-to-sail sessions for both children and adults, and the club is equipped with showers, toilets, and changing rooms. NBYC has undergone building reconstruction, and is still a work in progress – but once finished will provide a fantastic venue for all members to enjoy. Join the fun-filled family atmosphere of NBYC and become part of the changing face of one of Auckland’s emerging yacht clubs. On Sunday 14 October NBYC will be hosting an open day from 10.00 – 2.00. Those interested will be able to meet the coaches, see what it’s all about, and even give it a go. If it’s for you – sign up for summer and get sailing! The sailing calendar stretches through until April 2013, with sailing sessions scheduled for Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings, and the opportunity to race on Sunday afternoons.
