Nate 2 Posted October 25, 2012 Share Posted October 25, 2012 NZ has finished the A Class Catamaran World Champs in Florida with 3 in the top 10! The conditions were pretty gnarley (thanks to a nearby hurricane) and only 5 races were completed in the end - the minimum to constitute a series - and no drops were permitted. Only a third of the fleet ventured out on the last day. Murray Philpott of Christchurch excelled in the conditions and finished 5th, also taking out the Grand-Masters title. I think this is his best result since the Germany Worlds in 1992! Mike Drummond finished 6th and Alan Coutts 8th. Blair Tuke had some very good results but unfortunately had to carry a DNC to finish 19th. Geoff Woolley managed 14th.
