Guest
Stolen from SA - I Like it Designer Michael Storer says this sexy little winged woody will cost less than 3 grand to build, and with just epoxy fillets or glass tape holding everything together, it should take a week or so for an experienced builder to throw together. With a square top main and around 50 KG weight, it’s a nice example of, as Storer puts it, “what one of the wholesome low cost, highly efficient, self build plywood dinghies from Australia and NZ in the 1970s might have evolved into if everyone hadn’t got sidetracked by composites, carbon fibre, ball bearing fitouts – for an incremental increase in performance but a huge increase in boat cost.” Plenty of info on the brand new box boat (including pre-order info) here, and check the thread for more info, critique, and the designer himself answering questions.
