  2. So if you have done the coastal classic to death, and you can't be bothered bringing the boat back from the bay, but you still want the party at the end, i suggest you go south. Sponsored by Lidgard Sails, The Aviemore classic, this year it's 25th rendition, is a two day event held on a fresh water lake that lies beneath sky high mountains. Hosted by the Timaru Yacht and Boat Club, you sail by day and party on the lake front by night, nice warm bed and hot shower each evening, and partying aside no need to stay up watching for rocks in the middle of the night. Most people stay on site on land
  3. Any updates from channel island scheds?
  4. Damn tracker, trying to get a handle on The Taniwha, this is it's first real test after dramas of breaking the rudder last coastal.

  7. Woo Hoo, keen on the floating party race that is the Panmure Two Handed, Three Legged! I actually get to take my own boat out for a change and go for a blast. Though not much blasting predicted for the weekend, looks like it's going to be pretty light. So might be more the party. See you all there! Look for the big Lidgard flags,we're sponsoring the weekend so we'll be having a little shindig on the Taniwha Friday night, probably start before we finish if it's light, so if your keen on a cheeky rum the night before the main event at Kawau come on over your all invitied. Taniwha says RARRR
  8. Also at the bottom end of waiheke as sponsors of the weekend we'll be having a wee lidgard warm up party! So come have a rum or two on us to cap the night off. It won't be too huge, we wouldn't want to spoil the main event on Saturday night at kawau. Just look for the big lidgard flags on the taniwha!

  14. Hey i've got a carbon prod and want to put a Sheave Box through it. Anyone got any suggestions on what i should use, or should i just go with 316 s/s even though it would fizz out over time

    Carbon Prod

I have a carbon tube with an I.D of 50mm with a 4.5m wall and im looking to make a 2m prod pur of it on my 30foot warrick. What im trying to find out is what are the loads likely to put on the prod from a code zero and a gennaker and what do I need to do to beef up my prod in order to handle the loads. I planning on making a fixed prod with a bob stay. Should i go for spreaders also and stay them to the boat also. Any ideas on where to start would be much appreciated.
