So i have a vintage Solé 10hp single banger diesel and just gave it a solid workout .. basically drove it to the bay of islands and back. (northerlies on the way up, southerlies on the way back.. and a finite timeline,.)
There is a cylindrical item on the side which started looking a bit corroded, then appeared overheated and finished cracked, oozing a little and spitting black sooty stuff.
I think it is what the Solé parts list refers to as 'pipe exhaust' but not sure. It has a big exhaust pipe out the back which leads to a chamber of sorts further back in the boat, smaller pipes goin
