  1. Anyway, we should get back to bikes !!

Rodger Freeth was a man I admired from back in the day. He was my Physics tutor in 197? Was always interesting.

It did seem slightly weird seeing him racing. He was never spectacular like Croz, he just put his head down and got on with it.

He certainly stirred up the natives when he turned up with this !!

  2. There's a video of the Beast being assembled which is worth watching. The thing set the speed record of 128mph in 1911.

Apparently at that speed the engine was doing just over 1000rpm.

    I'd be scared s@#$%less at 30mph in it !

  3. I've always been a Rossi fan. These are a couple of interviews he did after announcing his retirement.

One certainly has to admire Marquez' talent but I can't say I'm a fan. Rossi's comment about him is amusing.

  4. Another Bikie here. I raced an H2 and a Z1 in the late 70's. Wasn't very good ! Now riding a Multistrada as I can't ride sports bikes anymore (999 was my last)

I think riding a bike around a corner well is the same feeling you get sailing a boat on the wind when you've managed to get it in the groove.

  5. I'm no great fan of the cycle bridge as I'm sure something better and more cost effective could be done , however 700m for a bridge that could last for 100 years versus 200m for a rich mans pissing contest which may / probably will be gone in 3 years. I know which one I'd back

  6. The biggest problem the "bureacracy" has to deal with is figuring out who is telling the truth. Because they can't trust everyone they therefore must trust no one. Obviously some people are inconvenienced, but that's life. By getting on crew NYS has used up some of his boring time in MIQ, so that's a positive.

  7. I'm sure it was another yachty as they left a pair of sailing gloves behind. I agree Waikiore, the boat is definately minimalist in stuff worth stealing. On a brighter note I was contacted by an officer in the Maritime police unit so someone has stirred up some action! To be fair I don't expect the police to spend much time on it as there are plenty more important things out there.

  8. Date was sometime after last wednesday (not 100% sure) and before monday which is when I reported it. Pile # 469 (Iorangi). As I said earlier I have no problem with westhaven office staff, they were very helpful.
