  1. Has anyone got feedback on using Low Friction Rings as block replacements....?

The Rings look great for barber hauler, cascading backstay etc... what about as a sheet block replacement?

  2. Found a supplier, but they need a run of at least 4 to go ahead. They all need to be the same chart, so far they have 2 interested in Approaches to Auckland, NZ 532.

The Big Fish, Cascades Road, Pakuranga is organising these. If you're keen contact either Phil or Andrea. 09 576 2764.

Hopefully can get a enough orders and the cost is realistic.

Thanks to everyone for all of the ideas and alternatives.

Boots, I haven't got to BBYC to ask about the leaners / tables, but I know the ones you mean... Phil at Burnsco HMB put me onto The Big Fish.

  3. Looking for a Hard Laminated Chart for Chart Table.  You know the sort, heaps of keelers have them on the lid for the freezer / chart table.  Attached is an example from Google images...

I've Googled all sorts of variations of laminated chart table, hard laminated, melamine laminated.... No luck.

Spoke to the people at www.boatbooks.co.nz in Westhaven and www.mapandchartshop.co.nz/ in Hamilton and they don't know where to get them from.

Any thoughts on where or even how to make these...?

    Cheers

  4. I agree with wheels. Coast Guard and St John Ambulance should be Government funded. Seems unusual that we have state funded hospitals, Fire Department and ACC etc, but some prevention and emergency services require corporate sponsorship and public donations.

  5. Hey Ray

At 2.4m draft suggest not going up the estuary at dead low tide, otherwise you'll be OK.  Don't take the Eastern short cut through Musick Point unless close to high tide.

There is fuel available on inside Half Moon Bay Marina.  On the left as you go in, next to the sea break.  Don't this there is pedestrian access (I've never tried) but if you motor in there you shouldn't need it.

There is a public loading wharf on the boat ramp side of BBYC marina.  Don't think it is for long term.  Tie up and load up sort of stuff.

Plenty of parking, all well marked by the boat ramp too.

    Cheers
