Woopsy...wrong race..i meant this to do with Melbourne Osaka.
Melbourne Osaka had multiple race starts over a number of days, I guess in the hope that they all reach the finish line at a similar time. An unscheduled, race management dictated pit stop to escape Cyclone Iris may impact that though...

In Wellington I have heard of someone that owns an apartment in the Clyde Quay apartments that bought a marina berth in Chaffers Marina, rented the berth out but kept the car parking pass as it was cheaper than buying an additional carpark in the apartment complex.

Just had a call at midnight from Westhaven security reading me the riot act for allowing someone to sleep on Sundreamer on the piles. It’s only for a couple of days and no I wasn’t aware it was against the rules as I’ve seen many people out there overnighting.
Anyway he’s logging it and he can log it up his arse for all I care
Really? That's very interesting given someone posted in the Westhaven Boat Shed FB group (for buying, selling, and making connections with other Westhaven berth holders and crew) that they are going to be living aboard a swing mooring while studying.
Now I'm not completely sure that it's a "swing" mooring in Westhaven but thought it was a bit odd if it wasn't given where the comment was posted.

If anyone wants a way of protesting a competitor out let me know. There is a nice flaw in the Race Docs that has opened up a good angle to have a crack if someone wants too.
No I'm not going to put it here, I may need to protest you out and if I say out loud ..........
Is that anything to do with the new version of sailing instructions added to the website as "There were some errors in the Sailing instructions loaded to the website on Friday 13 October. "
Or something different???

The committee boat has current possession of the disco ball, but is likely to be the last to the party/raft up due to finishing boats.

We've met up with Simon and can vouch that he's real keen to make the next RNI! Great to have another Wellington boat interested.

Let me know if anyone wants higher res versions direct. Shame not to get any photos of the finish - it was too dark! Congrats to all of those that stuck it out until the breeze came in.

Change of venue for briefing, same time and day Thursday 7pm but now at Richmond Yacht Club. 102 entries received.
-
39 boats entered now, briefing tonight at 1900 RNZYS. Hopefully we'll live stream the start on Friday night via the SSANZ Facebook page, accessed from the SSANZ website for those that don't do FB.

Arbitare and Oracle still going. Vela Via finished in the early hours this morning, after taking shelter to get rid of some water and let the race management team have a few hours sleep. The Gisborne restart is under way after their unofficial 4th leg finish in Gisborne.
-
All boats finished Leg 3 and now we are enjoying the Hawkes Bay drizzle. Restart Thursday at 3pm, just before high tide.

Did the 10mt limit start with the Sydney to Hobart? That's definitely become a race where there's no point going unless you have a go fast 50 footer at a minimum, preferably 70 - 80 feet.

I hope she stays local and you get full price SD.
That's one hell of a lot of boat, history and fun for what seems to me to be a hell sharp price.
I asked my Minister of Profit Dispersement and Shoe Accusations about having a suss only to be told 'Yeap, no problem go buy her if you like....... as long as you have finished all your other projects first'. Have I mentioned she can make a lot of sense for a fun spoiling bitch?
But that's not a "No you can't"...

Don't forget wearing life jackets while diving too ...

What a result in the Nacra - Argentina skipper Sante Lange aged 54 winning gold in his third Olympics. Oldest sailor competing in Rio, his two sons are competing in the 49er class and he lost half a lung last year to cancer. Didn't see the incident at the top mark, and what that meant for the results, but even to be competing at such a level at 54 years young is a testament to our sport!

Not quite a typical southerly in Wellington, with a B train blown off the Straitsman this morning approaching Wellington heads.
It was only the trailers (no cab) and contained frozen pork.

One 'S' too many there dude. Use www.ssanz.co.nz
The weather is saying "Good SE winds with surfing waves expected and a very high probability of fantastic Sends fleet wide'.
In other words it looks near perfect.
Thanks - edited now! Was in a rush to go get coffee and doughnuts ...

What do we know about the Elliott 1050’s?

Meanwhile in a different part of the world recently I happened to take a snap of a racy looking boat heading out for a sail from Sausalito, California. When I made it back home I showed it to He-who-knows-more-about-boats, who agreed with me that it looks very "Elliot-iish" and a search using the Sail number of the YNZ site confirms it is indeed an Elliot 1050 Basic Instinct. Anyone know anything about how it's in the States?
