  1. Entered? Who are we kidding, we may be old and wise but the young piedy guys are still hopeless and forget to enter!

Entered properly we have Jim Beam, Rat Bags, Moneyshot and MotoMouse. But unofficially i know of two more coming, maybe more...

  2. And it is joined with the annual Pied Piper Intergalactic championships this weekend at BBYC too - so those that want to see Plywood floating around come watch also! ;-) (They are a Townson after all!)

  3. The races i did on Cosa Nostra was more just a grin and bear it - race with a wing and a prayer.

Its easy to get up, and i just hoped i could get it down in one piece! - Having long sheets so it can reach back to the main hatch was a winner dropping in the cockpit rather than front hatch - means you can reach everything without letting the kite go!

  4. and am currently piecing together some stories from people to get an article about it - if anyone has some stories let me know, or PM me them.

A blatant dig for the sponsor now - BJ Tyres in East Tamaki.

Kev is a blimen awesome sponsor - how many other sponsors offer to sponsor an event - turn up in their own private launch - start the race, finish the race, do the race management, pay for, cook and clean up the bbq not just for dinner but Breakfast too - and then if thats not enough even supplies cold beers and rum! - Superb stuff thanks Kev.

If anyone needs tyres, wheels, wheel alignment, i can guarantee the drive to East Tamaki to see the team at BJ Tyres is well worth it - best deal in town, from the kind of guy us yachties should support. Tell him you came from the single handed and he will look after ya!

  5. Yeah thats not a bad suggestion Wheels. Alternator bearing would squeel and can load the engine up hard.

A few questions also - when it wont rev out:

    1) Does it black smoke? (As if the fuel system is trying to fuel it but its overloaded)

    2) Will it rev out in nuetral - eliminating the sail drive, or shaft / gearbox systems as faults.

  6. Yup Krakatoa just entered (Pogo 40).

you know you want to smithy. - Im gutted i have to miss this one, had planned on doing it, until the HWC at home blew up and i now have 17 sqm of flooring thats wetter than wheatbix... Yay.

Just a note to any of the SoloIQ guys, can you let us know if your not planning on coming, just so we can arrange catering - Smithy, even more reason to join - you can leave the dishes at home...

  7. Got one in the shed you can have for a bottle of rum Nige, only thing is its missing the legs that fold out and sit against the transom, it has the hoops that loop over and back down, and has the little domes to click into the fittings on the deck. Dont have the deck fittings but they are a burnsco stock item

Will dig it out and get a photo tomorrow if interested.

  8. Was a great day on the water!
Results will be on the website shortly - apologies for the delay

Was a great day on the water, thanks heaps to the race officers, and of course to the sponsor - BJ Tyres. And thanks to all the SoloIQ guys for making the effort to come back afterwards - was a good raft up on the loading dock.
