  1. Was driving past Okahu bay yesterday and saw the Tee Dubbyah sitting there minus amas. Looks kinda weird without em strapped on eh. Bet you're looking forward to the finished result eh Tim!

  2. Glad to hear progress is steadily being made Mr W! Bit of a pisser being without floats over Christmas eh, but the bigger picture looks great.

I must admit that lacking a 3 dimensional mind I struggle to get my head around how it all will look. Last week I was in Kumeu and when I got home I though that I should have gone in for a look - but I didn't think of it at the time and also I don't know where Gary is.

I'd invite you out for a sail in my shiny red boat but you'd probably find sailing at 7 knots a bit tedious.

  3. Do I smell a bar fight here?

Ye of little faith. Tim will apologise for misleading everyone, blame it on disappointment about the overweight and do what he should have done in the first place. Detail the 75 kg calculations (maybe the hours as well), then explain where he went wrong. With a bit of luck, he will learn a bit of humility and not be so quick to attack others in future.

And Gary will apologise for being unprofessional, give his take on why the weight was so high and we can all discuss how it could have been done better/made lighter, which is what the forum is all about.

Hiya Rob I wasn't picking a fight with you or Tim! In fact I'm still trying to work out how this all got started. You both strike me as intelligent men and I wonder why there isn't room for each others points of view? Hell I know nothing about designing or building boats or the bits that make them go so I'd believe anyone who sounds rational. What's the argument about? (probably a rhetorical question)

  4. Yes any aspirations I might have had to build a boat are gone. I just don't have the skill, inclination, or patience to do it. But I do admire those who do. Big ups!

  5. I'm not so sure what's going on there, but alot of the photos have beer bottles in hand. you sure little elves don't come out at night and do it while you're all asleep drunk?

Looks awesome though!!

  6. Sounds exciting Mr Wolf. Looking forward to the photo's. I must say the dedication to photographing the construction and sharing is fantastic as it would be much easier to not do so. Will this end up being the longest subject in Crew.org history?

  7. I think this whole forum is fantastic. I am an engineer but have not done alot of work with carbon. I think it is fantastic to see how the inner structure has been fitted to the outer skin. Hat off to you FNG and good work Mr Wolf! keep the pics flowing..

Yeah - what he said, only I'm not an engineer! Awesome Mr Wolf!!

  8. Those are good questions. Mine were alot simpler:

Which is dearer all the carbon or all the green tape?

Wouldn't the amas weigh less without all the green tape?

Are you going to paint over the green tape or around the green tape seeing as the boat is green?

  9. Go to sail brokers. They have a few options. Our club website has a link to them go to http://www.weiti.co.nz/Links.htm and click on the Sailbrokers logo.

I think in cruise mode the Ant floats a good couple of inches lower in the water and because that bow area is empty I fill it up with fridge, dive tanks, and as much crap as I can stuff in there. It sails around like a minitun! But the bbq lives in the boat, cos during a race if it's a real drifter, I can light up the bbq, rustle up a couple of steaks and demoralise Knot Me and Fish who will be to leeward and behind.
