wheels 543 Posted November 29, 2010 Share Posted November 29, 2010 Give KM a call. He can supply Solar stuff and a standard run of the mill PWM reg will be quite affordable. It is highly recommened to use a proper reg, most especially if you have a reasonable size Panel to battery ratio. Otherwise you can damage the batteries. And it also means the banks are being tickled everyday by something, rather than you switching on when on board. As soon as a battery stops being charged, it will slowing sink down in voltage and sulphation occurs. If the liquid does not get a few bubbles stiring the brew every now and then, the Acid will "stratify" and special equalisation charging is required. So if you can maintain a trickle, the batteries will last for years. Link to post Share on other sites
