DrWatson 380
Found this online today - it's a guy I know. He spent 20 years restoring his boat, and 3 years every spare moment on another museum piece, only to see the lot taken in 1h of inferno as his barn burnt to the ground before his eyes. http://www.aftenposten.no/nyheter/iriks ... 6gVuPmSy1l We're having a wee fund raiser for him over on the Wooden Boat Forum. Heaven forbid I mention another Forum here on the world's best sailing website, but it's for a good cause. http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread. ... Ole-s-fund (Matt, feel free to redirect or take this down if you wish.) It's also a nice reminder that those of us who have boats in sheds somewhere, should check out our insurance cover. Ole's Museum piece, an original Colin Archer Pilot boat from 1903 was supported by a historical society for restoration but was barely insured and although his own boat was insured, it didn't reflect the value after all the restoration work. No matter what cover one has, it's hard to replace all those years and hard work and emotional involvement let alone the tools and other associated losses.
