Guest
Hello all- I'm putting together a photo collection of "Emergency repairs made at sea" mostly from photos I have collected along the way. The page can be found here- http://www.yachtwork.com/report-broken-gear.htm I'm looking for some more tricks, and photos of "repairs made at sea" to help build the collection. Any help, photos, stories, or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Scott in Tahiti http://www.yachtwork.com/images/broken%20gear/DSC07588.jpg[/img] [/img]http://www.yachtwork.com/images/broken%20gear/DSC07353.jpg[/img] Coins used as sail slug New pump melts down __________________ Scott Fratcher Marine Engineer/RYA Yachtmaster

Fusion 0
Whipping twine I have saved 2 cruisers Xmas holidays with whipping twine. one was an exhaust elbow that split. First wrap it in electrical tape then whipping twine over the electrical tape. You will be surprised at how well it works. I did the same on an old steal oil line on a Yanmah in a Raven. I think that one was 8 years ago and probably still holding?

Guest
Can it be considered makeshift if there is a workbench and vise being used? That looks ready for production by Kiwi standards.
