DrWatson 381
So I'm interested in learning how to make a mold from an existing form/shape Anyone got tips and advice on the process to make sure I simply don't stick a bunch of CSM permanently to something? And how to make sure the mold produced is actually a true copy of the original? I presume you polish the hell out of the finish on the form, apply some kind of release agent, or wax?, then some kind of gelcoat and then matting with polyester laid up to xxx mm thickness. with xxx dependant upon the size of what you're doing. Further, if the object to be copied has any complex concave areas, then I guess a multipart mold would be required. So what's a process for a two mart mold? Do you make one side, then when it's set, add the second side?or make it all at once, which sounds far too impossible.
