Hi All,

It I.....the prodigal Son doth return ............

It is sparrow fart in the morning here and I have just got my new baby pooter up and running on the net. Heres an image for ya ........dog and partner still asleep (along with the rest of the Harbour) and a bleary eyed man, with a half smile.. standing in his jocks at the galley bench typing into what looks like a kids toy proped up on a shoe box.....

Oh the joys of the net ....

Yep as per Fusions inclusion the boat has now been on the water for about 10 months. It has been hectic and mostly good.

I decided to do a wander up the east coast as a sea trial as going around in circles in Westernport is prety boring. Good idea except it took weeks before we got a weather window to get out aand "around the corner". That is to say to refuge cove and then on and into lakes enterance. Two overnighters with a very interesting bar at the end.

A couple of weeks flew by there and then it was on to Eden.

Well Eden it aint and snug cove it isnt.!!

We got well and truely bashed up hanging off the jetty in strong Sw gales. No point in going to the other side of the harbour because the swell running was to big.

Hanging between the jetty and a concrette block with the bow going under water is no fun.

From there we continued on up the coast to Sydney via Bermagui (nice place) and port hacking (badly silted so if you have any draught you can only get into the start of this extensive water way).

Sydney is Sydney !! Big Bold and Busy. Yachts, ferries, and half the Korean navy made for a memorable arrival.

From there to Broken Bay (the Hawkesbury river), another magic cruising ground, but would be hell in the summer time.

We counted 250 moorings in one small bay...all waiting for the summer flux.

Next on to Swansea bar and Lake macquarie

Another opening bridge and a silted enterance. This time we had an escort from the local marine rescue so got into the main cruising grounds with no problemsNext stop Camden Haven.Oh what a joy this place is. The local services club has provided a nice little jetty and has a shower and toilet for cruisers. The view from nth brother mountain is worth the trouble. Apart one

HHmm seems I am having troubles with me baby pooter.

cursor keeps jumping to the top of the screen.

I will battle on..

From Camden have we then went to Coffs harbour. Not a recomended anchorage. Better to pay the money and use the marina.

And then to the mighty Clarence river. (Iluka/Yamba)

You can cruise all the way inland (some 40 NM to grafton on this one) . Another opening joy. The harwood bridge. This bridge stops the traffic on the pacific highway. (The power of a cruising yacht he he )

Of note is Maclean a town that has seen fit to provide a free jetty including power and water. But even better is the high school !!! It has a cemetery as its front lawns , and 30 000 bats....do a google if you dont believe me.

Iluka is a reasonably secure little fishing port that has a very rare coastal rain forest on its edge.

From there we have just run back down to Coffs harbouur which is where we now are.

You may ask why turn around and head back south...anwser Cyclones. The weather guys have made a special statement that they are expecting up to 6 cyclones this season.

My sea trial dont include 120 knott winds.....

It will take another 2 months to get back to hastings.

After a short respite I will then go to the east coast of Tassie for awhile.

cheers to you all...
