The aardvark's brother and sil are now seriously looking for their next keeler.

Specification wish list includes:

approx 30-32ft. They are moving up from a Raven 26, so Lotus 9.2 or similar is their mark, could go a bit bigger.  Probably not a Townson or Stewart.

Cruising focus

walk-on - do-ups are not in the mix, but regular maintenance is expected

accommodation for 4 plus, separate head with handbasin

fridge and reasonable galley configuration.  Pressure water preferred, hot and cold would be great but not essential

single handed operation - the sil is not an active participant, more the relax and read type.  So, everything back to the cockpit, remote operated anchor etc.

open transom and/or easy access boarding platform.

Cruising sail plan, probably furling headsail

Auckland or Auckland environs location - they are not up to relocating a distant purchase.  BOI to BOP would probably be the limits.

Originally keen to stay with full grp, they are now more agnostic on construction materials, so glass over timber is in the mix.  Ferro is out.

Budget $35k with some room to meet the market for the right option.  Full pre-purchase survey would be required.

Hi. I know this post is a little old now but thought I’d check if your brother and sil have found a boat yet. I have a Cav 32 that might fit many of their requirements.
